During this economic crisis time the designers inspire themselves to new line vintage and neoclassic. A return to the past, with references to the 80’s and strongly readjusted prices.
Evolution by SIMAS: the new bathroom “mini”.
What could be more of a classic than this? And, at the same time, what could have a more contemporary feel? This is EVOLUTION, the new series of sanitary-ware de¬signed by Terri Pecora for Simas, a project which re¬quired two years of intense collaboration between the designer and the technical department at Simas. A glance backwards in time, but with contemporary styl¬ing, in search of that perfect balance between yesterday and today.
New aesthetic ideals lead us along a time-line spanning from the turn of the last century to today, observing the metamorphosis of forms as they pass through the movements of the history of design: from the sturdy, strong-lined sanitary-ware of the beginning of the 20th Century, to the rational minimalism of the last few de¬cades, back to a revival of the stream-lined sleekness of the Thirties and Forties, revisited and updated in EVOLUTION with its unequivocally contemporary geometri¬cal form.
The rectangle with rounded corners is the key aesthetic element in the collection. And it is what keeps the prod¬ucts contemporary, echoes of vintage in its rimmed bor¬ders and its proportions. As perfectly at home in a trendy New York loft as in an elegant, classical ambience.
CATALANO: Canova Royal
Canova royal is a sanitary-ware family which expresses the renewed feeling of Catalano towards classic and harmonious outlines. It represents the updating of the historical Canova collection, designed for bathroom with traditional atmosphere. Soft and elegant shapes, clearly inspired by neoclassicism, determine a timeless and refined style. The value of memory is the leading concept that drives this accurate restyling. The collection is made up of a 70 washbasin, suitable for wall-hung or pedestal mounted installation, and a pair of floor WC and bidet and a low level ceramic cistern. The toilet seat, also available in black colour, features the innovative Soft-Close system. The collection will soon enlarge its range with two washbasins of 90 and 56 cm, suitable for wall-hung or pedestal mounted installation and 2 pairs of WC and bidet, floor standing and wall-hung versions. Royal Canova products can be matched with a selection of Catalano’s accessories.
FIR: Dynamica Nothing will change unless you move
The event FIR Italia for Cersaie’s 2010 edition highlights “Dynamica”, the new bath collection.
‘Nothing will change unless you move’ is FIR ITALIA’s event for Cersaie’s 2010 edition. The new step of “My Wellness – Interior Feelings”, the itinerant roadshow program, where this company proposes functional and formal furnishing-solutions, communicates the balance and the full harmony between different wellness dimensions and emphasizes the new collection Dynamica. This new collection expresses a path of dynamic design, with “classicism” as starting point and “vintage” as point of arrival.
Dynamica offers different variations for washbasins, bidets, bathtubs and showers, proposing washbasin mixers in three different highs, for deck-mounting or raised-base version, wall-mounted mixers with plate, wall-mounted and ceiling mounted spouts, bidet mixers, deck-mounted or external bath and shower mixers, wall-mounted and ceiling mounted shower heads, shower columns, towel warmers, mirrors and ceiling lights.
About taps, this collection proposes a traditional lever or a joystick lever, both available with tonic jet, without aerator for a pleasant natural jet, otherwise with cascade-jet, which reminds a real waterfall.
